Many congratulations to Jenny who qualified as a Level 3 Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

A fond farewell to all our school risers. It has been an absolute pleasure to have cared and worked with you. We know you all leave us ready and excited for your new adventures on Reception class.

We also say goodbye to Nicky. Nicky has been a part of Little Acorns for many years and she will be dearly missed by all the staff, parents and children. Stepping up to the role of Supervisor is Jenny, and Laura has accepted the position of Deputy Supervisor. They are both very excited to start their new roles in September, maintaining and developing all that we love about Little Acorns.

Little Acorns held their annual AGM. Our Chair-person Sophie Francis-Jones has after several years stepped down from her role. We thank her for her commitment and support to all the staff over the years. Abi Warne has stepped up from the committee to be our new Chair-person. We are very excited to have her onboard, her eldest child transitioned to school last September and her youngest will join us this September. Abi is very passionate about Little Acorns and we look forward to working with her helping to shape little lives and preparing them to be school ready.

We have been fundraising for Little Acorns this month. First we attended the Rampisham toy fair, we were donated preloved toys, books, soft toys and DVD’s to sell on. We made a fantastic £168. Thank you very much to our parent volunteers who helped on the day.

Our second fundraiser was in partnership with Bag2School, we took donations of old clothes, teddies, bags, shoes, soft furnishings and bedding which is bagged up and weighed, then either recycled or sold on. We raised £120! Thank you kindly to everyone who brought in bags of donations.

The children took part in a sponsored toddle today at Evershot cricket pitch. They raised a whopping £260 for Little Acorns! What an achievement and what a fun day.

2021 has been a challenging year, but our children at Little Acorns have been amazingly resilient, they have all worked hard and had lots of fun. We remained open all year, and managed to get outside to play nearly every day. Now it is the end of Summer term and 5 of our lovely children are ready to graduate to Primary school. Luckily, they are all going next door to the wonderful Stickland’s school, so we will still be able to see them for Forest school and wave to them over the gate. If you are interested in booking sessions for your child please complete the contact form, or email littleacornsadmin@mail.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
